Las Vegas Has a Kiss-Themed Mini Golf Course
Kiss fans and golf lovers can both rejoice. Las Vegas now has a miniature golf course paying homage to the rock group. For example, the 18th hole of the Kiss by Monster Mini Golf Course features a giant Gene Simmons head with an exaggerated red tongue. And since Vegas is a 24-hour town, you can play mini golf at night because the course was painted in orange and red glow-in-the-dark paint. Of course there are guitars galore.
There’s a Vegas touch: Check out the photos of Vegas icons wearing Kiss boots. They include former mayor Oscar Goodman, Wayne Newton, David Copperfield, even Elvis hisself. (I wonder why they didn’t ask me.)
In case the Mandalay Bay beach wedding chapel is booked, you may consider getting hitched here. A couple bid $15,000 on eBay for the right to be the first couple married at the Kiss wedding chapel. All the members of the band attended this wedding and Simmons stood up there with the bride and groom. Who married the couple? Brian “lowercase g” Thomas, a little person and ordained “mini-ster.” Hey, this is Vegas!!!!
The gift shop includes action figures that sing Kiss classics and a must-have sculpture of Kiss members as Mount Rushmore.
Guess who scored the first hole in one? Kiss band member Tommy Thayer.
It costs $11.95 per person to play. You can reserve tee tunes at www.monsterminigolf.com/kiss.
The course is located across from the Hard Rock Hotel on Harmon Avenue. It is just east of the Rumor Boutique Hotel.
P.S. Kiss released its first album (remember vinyl anyone?) in 1974.
